Background 背景

The main way I create works of art is to show my ideas and imagination through painting. I prefer to paint with Chinese ink paintings. Compared with previous works, this time I want to create works with more horror and mysterious themes and traditional surrealist styles.

In this project, I will create a series of ink paintings. Ghost novels, such as Japanese Monster Liao Zhai Zhi Yi, Shan Hai Jing, etc., these traditional ghost cultural classics warn people to be kind, abide by social norms, and provide psychological buffer for death through moral warnings. These stories guide people to live safely by punishing immoral behavior, being alert to dangerous areas, and explaining unknown phenomena in a supernatural way. I want to express the current social state of Hong Kong, and at the same time reflect and inherit cultural values.

我的創作藝術品的主要方式是透過繪畫來展示我的想法和想像力。我更喜歡用中國水墨畫來繪畫。比較以前作品中，今次想用比較恐怖和神秘的主題和傳統帶有超現實主義的風格來創作作品。

在這個專案中，我將建立一系列的水墨畫。鬼怪小說，如：日本妖怪聊齋誌異、山海經等，這些傳统鬼怪文化經典透過道德警示，告誡人們要善良、遵守社會規範，並提供對死亡的心理緩衝。 這些故事透過懲罰不道德的行為、警惕危險區域，並以超自然的方式解釋未知現象，來引導人們安全地生活。想表達現在香港的社會狀態，同時亦反映和傳承了文化價值觀。


Ghost Night · Lan Kwai Fong（鬼夜· 蘭桂坊）

Lan Kwai Fong is a night view spot and bar area in Hong Kong. In the scene of late-night carnival, you can see all kinds of people gathering here. At the same time, it is metaphorically a Japanese monster. They are not only the legends of the strange power, but also a mirror, reflecting the plight of human heart and society, as well as the imagination and fear of the unknown world.

蘭桂坊是香港聞明中外的夜景點和酒吧區。作品表達深夜狂歡的場景中，可以看見有各式各樣的人在這地方聚集。同時隱喻為日本妖怪。它們不僅是怪力亂神的傳說，更是一面鏡子，映照出人類的內心、社會的困境以及對未知世界的想像與恐懼。

Shanhaijing · Record of Strange Beasts in the Workplace （山海經·職場異獸錄）

Through the combination of one part of "Soshantu" with the monsters of Shanhaijing and the place of modern offices, it satirizes the struggle between people in the workplace. Trees and rocks set off the hunting and making a living faced by these monsters and people in the old era. Their actions and behavior are the embodiment of the workplace in our modern society. Through monsters to express the psychological and spiritual direction of the current urban people.

透過《搜山圖》其中一個部份與山海經的妖怪及現代辦公室的地方結合，諷刺職場上人與人之間的鬥爭。樹木、山石襯托出這些妖怪和族人在舊時這個年代所面對的捕獵、謀生。他們的動作行為放在我們現代社會就是職場的化身。透過妖怪去表達現在城市人們的心理和精神的方向。
